Kickoff this afternoon at M E Global Athletic Park is at 4:30. Elsewhere... Notre Dame visits Camrose... Rocky Mountain House visits Wetaskiwin. Yesterday's league opener saw Stettler upset Sylvan Lake by a score of 28-8.

Hockey Alberta has announced the top 31 U17 male hockey players that have been short listed for Team Pacific at the 2011 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, December 29 - January 4, in Winnipeg. Of note on this short list are Lacombe’s Joshua Smith and Red Deer Rebels Defenceman Matt Dumba.

The 15th season of the McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour came to a rousing conclusion on Monday at the annual Tour Championship at Wolf Creek Golf Resort. A total of 135 of Alberta's top junior golfers put their games to the test. 14-year-old Tyler Saunders of Edmonton's Glendale GCC won a three gole playoff over Calgary Pinebrook's Matt Williams, also 14, to claim the boys title. Pretournament favorite Jennifer Ha of the Glencoe took the girls title, three shots ahead of Becky Martin of Medicine Hat GCC. Detailed results are available at the tour’s website.
