  • Tools for School Campaign  The Tools for School campaign is now running. Over the summer you can donate school supplies or drop your spare change into the Twoonies for Tools for School jars at many locations around town.  Monetary donations can also be made at the Lacombe F.C.S.S office. Most Wanted items are binders, glue sticks, pencil cases, paper, crayons, non toxic markers, scissors, duotangs, pencil cases and erasers. Thank you for your continued support and ensuring that local children receive the supplies needed to start the new school year. 
  • Aloha Alix!  ALOHA! Alix will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 11th and 12th and you’re invited to the village for a ton of family fun! Saturday features a Pancake Breakfast at the Fire Hall from 8am11am with parade at 10am, kids activities and a Hawaiian themed BBQ! Sunday features the Main Street Show N Shine!

  • 09:00am  Ponoka Community Fair 
    This year's theme is "Cultivating Our Youth." There will be a horse show, agility dogs, a greased pig race, hobby horse races, hula hoop contest, mutton busting, an all-day petting zoo as well as many other fun kids activities! Rainbow the clown will be there from 9am-5pm and there will be a community supper at 6pm. Thank you to our sponsors!
    Ages 17+ are $10, 6-16 are $5 and under 6 is free!

  • 11:00am - 03:00pm  Canadian Diabetes Clothesline Program 

    The Canadian Diabetes Clothesline Program will be hosting a 'Fill A Truck' event on Saturday, August 11th in Caroline.
    Join them from 11am - 3pm at GTI Petroleum Ltd. Gas & Snack Station where they will be collecting donations of clothing and small household items.
    Each donation helps support the Diabetes Clothesline.

  • 01:00pm - 03:00pm  Adoption Event  The Sylvan Lake and area Serenity Pet Shelter Society is going to be bringing beautiful foster dogs to Lacombe Pets, located on 49th Street, next to Curves.   We have pups aged 5-10 months to dogs ranging in age from 2-5 years.  All are spayed or neutered, vaccinated to date, and healthy, friendly future pets.  They are looking for their forever homes. Our organization is a Registered Charity, and a non-profit society. Lacombe Pets very kindly invited us to their store for this event! Adoption information will be available on site! 
  • 01:30pm  Alix Wagon Wheel Museum Open House  An event to celebrate our recent designation as a Recognized Museum. We are hosting an Open House beginning at 1:30 pm with a short program at 2:00pm. Refreshments will be served.
